EXAMPLES OF OUR EXPERIENCE

Project "Energy Efficiency Rating of Regions of Ukraine"
In 2011 the Ukrainian company System Capital Management (SCM) initiated the project „Energy Efficiency Rating of Regions of Ukraine“. The project aims at tapping Ukraine’s energy efficiency potential and to set up a corresponding rating system. The method used was developed by the International Energy Agency. Data of Ukrainian regions will be collected and compared. This eventually shall improve significantly energy efficiency in Ukraine.

To ensure an objective rating and the implementation of the regional and international best practices a Board of Experts was set up.

Dr. Petra Opitz is member of the Board of Experts the independent supervisory and advisory body. She contributes her expertise in energy efficiency policy and analytical methods.
Tariff setting for gas transmission networks
We have advised E.ON Ruhrgas Transport AG on the requirements for effective competition across gas transmission networks as well as on the definition of relevant markets.
Incentive regulation for German electricity and gas networks
We have developed a variety of analytical models to simulate the impact of a new regulatory regime – known as Anreizregulierung (incentive regulation) – on German transmission and distributions system operators.
Reform of the wholesale electricity market in Ukraine
On behalf of the World Bank, we have supported the reform of the wholesale electricity market in Ukraine by assessing the economy-wide impact of a proposed change from the current pool model to a bilateral contracts regime.
