Dr. Anselm Mattes is consultant at DIW econ. He is an expert in public economics, international economics and globalisation with specific expertise in the empirical analysis of firm-level productivity and innovations as well as foreign direct investment and international trade. Before joining DIW econ, he worked as an economist at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IAW) at Tübingen. His research was mainly focused on foreign direct investment and international trade at the firm-level. In the context of his research, Dr. Mattes participated as a consultant in various projects for private and public institutions, including federal and state departments and the European Union. He holds a Master degree from the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart) with majors in public economics, econometrics, and international economics. He received his Ph.D. degree at the University of Tübingen.
