PROF. DR. JOERG BEUTEL

is a Senior Research Associate with DIW econ and a professor of economics and environmental science at Konstanz University of Applied Science in Germany. He is an internationally renowned expert on Input-Output analysis, the System of National Accounts and the development of statistical infrastructure. He is one of the main authors of the 2008 edition of the “Eurostat Manual of Supply, Use and Input-Output Tables”. Currently he is a principal consultant for the DIW econ project on the “Construction of Input-Output Table for Brunei Darussalam”. Mr. Beutel has worked for more than 20 years as senior economic advisor for the Government of Saudi Arabia. In a previous position he was an economist at ifo – Institute for Economic Research in Munich. Joerg Beutel studied economics at Heidelberg University and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Munich.
